Welcome to Ormsby Editions Licensing & Commissioned Art
As an artist, I paint from my heart and my life. I also paint unique concepts designed for trend-seeking licensing markets. I have licensed my artwork since 1999, and to date, have worked with over sixty companies to create products selling worldwide. Likewise, I have had the pleasure of completing numerous private commissions for those interested in original art.
Living in coastal California, surrounded by a large family and friends, provides me with a creative climate full of colorful opportunities and topics. I have always loved clear, bright color, and bold, vibrant design. I vary mediums based on the project or effect desired, and frequently combine mediums like watercolor and ink, or watercolor and oil pastel for interest. A whimsical viewpoint is a signature elements on all my licensed products. I also work on commission, and am always happy to discuss original artwork. My husband and I have owned and operated three galleries representing my original paintings, lithographs, and licensed products. Presently, I paint in a full service private studio, and focus on licensing, and commissions.
My licensed products have ranged from large ceramic tableware collections to fabric designs for the quilt-making industry. My art has enhanced paper, plastic, glass, pottery, wax, melamine, wood, fabric and tin. It’s taken the form of beach bags, lamps, clothing, stationery, furniture, shower curtains, beach towels, cocktail napkins, figurines, checks, stamps and puzzles. It has has even been on the big screen, featured in the Johnny Depp movie, "Blow".
My licensed products have been retailed at Macy's, Target, Ross, Gottchalk, Bed. Bath & Beyond, Cost Plus, Pier One Imports, Dillard's and multiple online retailers.... to name a few.
It’s been a lot of fun, a great challenge, and very rewarding to see my artwork enliven the products found in everyday life. I thoroughly enjoy the development process when working with manufacturers, and am always “tickled” when others recognize my style. I equally enjoy the dialog required to produce a successful commission. It truly has been the gift of a lifetime, painting the topics I love, and having others enjoy them.
Please review my gallery and product samples for art which might enhance your next product line, or interest you in commissioned art, and then contact me at [email protected].
